ひるのひに
ほりほりひかる
あついばば。
[NOTE: This was more of an hot August haiku, but I was inspired by recent talk of blades - steel that cuts, and has a wholesomeness to it that appeals to me. My favorite knife is my Japanese kitchen blade - the best steel, and it's lovely, with a white enamel and floral print blade set in a baby blue resin handle; it has been with me even in homelessness. Now, the poem references the hori-hori, or double edged gardening knife, typically about 6" long IIRC. Those are often favored by green-thumbed grandmas 👵 in rural places all over Japan 🇯🇵...]
