L'CHAIM
I am a link in a golden chain.
I smile, smug, and am in that way vain.
'Tis true, how easily one may fall in love.
Corollary to this, I've worked my ass off
To keep him and somehow stay.
A bad, bad Buddhist I am,
And I don't just go away...
[NOTE: This is as you could have supposed a Jodo Shin devotional verse, actually - an original by me. Many apologies to sangha buddy Jerry Bolick - an amazing poet! Please Google him! - for the ways in which this poem is, though har har immediate, nevertheless a failure to the deserving-better reader by being an incomplete moment, and then but a memory... All my love, namo-amida-butsu, and a tacked on "Semper Fidelis" to my dearest liver, from me, semper lepidus... For though I have no Latin, I have nevertheless avoided stealing anyone's valor (borrowed without asking ain't the same difference, nigga - I's fixing to give it back. Damn! Okay then!!!)]
